How do you deal with night wakings due to soiled nappy?
« on: March 27, 2010, 09:44:28 am »
My son has had diarrhoea for a week, then now he is having loose stools 3/4 timesa day. The doctor said his stool sample was normal. The problem is every day he will soil his nappy around 5am, however when I change him and then take him back to bed he will not go back to sleep, it seems to me that he wants his bottle. Even in the cases when I have given him a bottle most of the time he does not go back to sleep. Any advice on how to avoid him having soiled nappy during the night would be much appreciated.

Hugs!
How old is you son?
Eating solids yet?
Do you know if the d'hoea is from a bug/illness or is he teething maybe?
What was his bowel habits before this all started?

If your son is old enough to eat solids - grated apple is supposed to be good for helping settle d/hoea.

How old is he? If he's on solids you can try the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, toast - to try to 'firm things up'.

He is 8 months old before this he was having one stool movement a day, then he started with diarhoea for two weeks doctor said styool sample was normal, so I'm guessing its due to him having a wheeze,  bad cough and possibly teething.
Now he is having loose stools 4/5 times a day.
Can I give him small pieces of toast with crusts cut off at this age?

Totally, toast fingers are a great finger food! It could also be teething related too? My LO always had :-X nappies when he was teething

He's having 4 or 5 a day does that seem normal if he is teething?
He got his two front bottom teeth through 3 months ago so I think the others might be on their way!
