Vikki - my friend with an egg allergic kid uses flax in pancake recipes. This works only if you have flax seeds or flax seed powder,or flax seed meal. You can pour boiling water over the seeds, powder, meal, or what ever form you have. Let it cool and it will create a slimy goo that you can substitute for eggs. 1/4 cup = 1 egg. I've also heard really good things about EnerG egg replacer. The applesauce might work fine in pancakes too, as might one small banana!

Mmm, sounds yummy  Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed

Vikki that's funny with the "more" - DS still signs it while saying it but he will say it again and again - moh? moh? moh? moh? moh? moh? until you give in and give him more. And I'm sure half the time he knows he's only getting it to shut him up!!

Finn shook his head at everything this morning.  I did breakfast again because he managed a 10.75 hr night so we let him sleep.  I offered little mini bix type cereal - I soak them in a bit of milk and then put them in a bowl for him.  Then I gave him a whole banana which he gobbled right down.  Then I broke up a cereal bar and threw a couple of rice cakes into the bowl.  He didn't eat any.

No milk either.  He has completely gone off liquids except for his bedtime bottle.  He's going to dehydrate!

Hi ladies,
Great to come across your posts. My 16months old is the same. She wakes up at 7is and has bf half an hour later. A couple of months ago she was fine with Weetbix and Porridge, but now she will only drink her milk and eat some sultanas and maybe some fruit. Sometimes I find it really hard when I offer 5 different things and she's still not happy. It really makes me worried cause she also seems to be tired mid-morning and I'm not sure if that is because of lack of energy from food. She won't even be very enthusiastic about her snack in the morning... But I guess, our littlies are just being their personalities and she might not be a morning eater... Anyway, good to know that I'm not the only one struggling with bf!!

Thanks for the tips for egg replacements, Karen!  Though I think Mashi's right about the flax... Lips sealed Lips sealed Lips sealed  Doesn't sound particularly appetizing!  I might try the banana first and see if it works - anything banana is a winner in this house Smiley  If it doesn't work though the flax is definitely worth a try.  I've heard that flax is really healthy too!  I'll look for that EnerG one too, I've heard other people mention it on the food allergy board.  Not sure if it's available in Canada though?

Mashi - Dylan still signs "more" too.  You can tell how badly he wants something by how frantically he signs and the number of syllables in the word! Grin  We give him freezies sometimes (one of the few treats that he can have!) and a couple days ago he ran to the freezer and patted the door saying and signing "More! More! This! This! Mo-o-o-o-o-ore this! More this!"  (If he doesn't know the word for something, it's 'this' Smiley) He's done it a couple of times now; I need to get it on video, it is hilarious! Grin Grin

Wendy - does Finn drink anything during the day?  Water or juice at all?

Hi there, I haven't read all the replies but my Oliver has never been much for breakfast.  Lately he'll eat a yogurt as soon as he gets up and drink a lot of water.  Otherwise he mostly snacks up until nap time, will eat fairly well before nap if he sits down and likes what he's offered (LOL) -- but his biggest meal is and has always been dinner.  I really think he eats the majority of his calories for the day after nap.

I usually save the banana for the 3 p.m. or when he wakes up snack.  Mostly because it is A) easy for daycare and B) quick if we are home and headed out the door.

He also won't drink milk except for a bedtime bottle we still have around.  Otherwise it is water and if I'm concerned about his dehydrating I'll give him a small juice box (which, I know he likes the juice, but really its the straw that tickles his fancy LOL).
