Help patting prop to sleep ONLY at bt?
« on: April 19, 2012, 01:47:00 AM »
Question:

We've been going thru 3-2 nap transition n I've been having to pat my lil one to sleep only at bt though. He can self soothe n has no other issues.

But as soon as I stop he screams. If I go back n forth it's worse. But how can I possibly wean!? CIO ? Bc non CIO is impossible, he's gna scream at whatever road we take.

Help?

Ive had success weaning rocking frm help on here n it was awesome. Hope I can get help w this one now tht my bby is older n aghhhhhhhh 10000000000000000000x's more persistent n screamer. U'd think he's dying. Psh ::)

Right now I might just stick with the patting. He is probably OT most nights because of the nap transition so this seems to be an easy way to get him to sleep.

Once things are more settled he might not need you as much. You can slowly wean him off the patting by only doing it until he is almost asleep but not quite. You can keep your hand on him until he is alseep. Each time you pat for less.
