hmm well ok except H napped for about 30 mins today in the car when my mum and dad took him out and so is now still awake nearly an hour after I put him to bed. I do truly wonder when they can just...
a. go to bed at a 'normal' time.
b. not fall asleep in the car
c. not seem tired all the time.
yk??

Ugh, I have just had enough Becky, I really have - it's just ridiculous isn't it?! How much longer can this go on for?

We have had 2 awful NTs so far, he's just gone back to bed after being up with us for a bit once the second NT was over. It's just horrid.

Early BT was working ok for a good while, but even that isn't helping now - or maybe it would if we went even earlier but there are so few days when I can literally manage any earlier that it all goes to pot in between.

He needs a nap from time to time, but I'm finding it so hard to judge when, what time and for how long. And even then I can't guarantee that he'll have one (and I have to drive to get him to nap).

Was it on your thread that a later nap was suggested? I'm going to try that for a bit I think and see how that goes. He had a late (and long) nap a couple of weeks ago and it worked well, but then he was very OT so depserately needed the sleep. But I think we're nearly there again now. I think I'd prefer to have him up till 9pm than these NTs all evening. Trouble is a late night leads to EWs.

Im done with this. I'm moving out ;)

No nap. Horrid day.

He was up at 5.30am so I thought he'd definitely want a nap, but it would appear not. We had an hour's drive to meet family for a meal out (I really did NOT want to go, I knew it would be exactly like it was :( ) at about 2.15pm. I though that would be perfect timing but over an hour in the car and no falling asleep, noyt even a sign of it :(

So, of course, he was horrendous all afternoon, and we didn't leave until 6.15pm. He was ready for bed but didn't fall asleep till 6.45pm.

So, an overtired boy and a day that started at 5.30am and finished at 6.45pm. So far though, no NTs. The night is still young though. However, I am wondering if he might just be so so tired that he will just sleep. It does happen from time to time - it gets to the point where even he cant carry on with the broken nights, but we'll see.

I dont know what time he would have napped today. Or if it would have helped. It depends what mood I'm in at the time as to whether or not I think he should still nap.

I am home with him tomorrow but DH has the car so no chance of a nap anyway. Will do an early BT if necessary though. Will watch the signs and may even brave a super early one to see what that does.

I am so knackered, not all down to DS to be fair though, and just want to go to bed but I know that the second I get in he'll start with the NTs :(

I need to stop moaning about all this all the time...

Ok he STTN  ::) And it was actually nearly 11 hours (up at 5.40am), not great, but not bad at all. He woke slightly when I transferred him from the car to his bed so i wonder if that W2S was what stopped the NTs. I have had success with W2S before on a few occassions but these days the timings are so unpredictable that it's hard to know when to do it.

Thanks ladies.

I did BT soon after 5.30pm yesterday and he was asleep about 5.50/5.55pm. He cried out a few times throughout the evening, quite a frustrated cry (the start of a NT) but I do tend to wait a little now before going in as often he will just stop after a minute or so and go straight back to sleep, which he did do, thankfully. I am amazed he didn't have any actual NTs as usually crying like that builds to one.

He woke at 5.40am. I was working so DH was not amused ;) but I actually think that was ok considering his night was almost 12 hrs.

He's at nursery today, I will struggle to get him in the car before 6pm so BT wont be as early as it needs to be but we will see.

Thanks for the support girls, it does help to 'talk it through' and I am going to try to push through this and stick with no naps and decent BTs in the hope that his body does get used to it.
