Is 6 weeks too young for 3.5hr EASY?
« on: October 22, 2014, 01:25:59 am »
Hi everyone :)

My LO is 6 weeks old and I've been feeding 3hrly to this point. Over the past few days she's shown real reluctance to feed , not draining me fully and leaving me engorged. She's also extending nights a little to 3.5hrly, sometimes closer to 4. This morning I decided to try pushing her a time a little and feeding at 3.5ibstead of 3 hours. She's always struggled with morning nap, usually 45 mins, but today with an extra few mins A time slept 2hrs and woke, fed at exactly 3.5hrs, a small feed but better than before. I've only just put her in for second nap so can't report on anything else.

But 6weeks seems very young for 3.5hrs to me? Thoughts? Thanks :)

At this age I would follow her cues and if she is not ready, then just do as you have been and give it a while. How are her nights? If her nights are not rough and feels like she is making up for lost calories, then I would go with what is working for now!
