Hipp COMFORT milk- any good?
« on: October 24, 2016, 15:07:37 pm »
My 7 month old has been ebf until the last month or so when I have introduced some formula (one or two feeds) with view to stopping breast feeding.
I have been using Hipp formula as had good results with his older sister.
I'm finding if he has formula as his last feed before bed, rather than breast milk, he is wakes a lot with trapped wind and is very unsettled. Breaking wind appears to relieve his discomfort. His poos are normal colour and consistency. Do you think it's worth me trying Hipp COMFORT milk instead of the regular version? or should I try a different brand e.g. Aptimil? Thanks.

Hmmm when we tried bottle for evenings that time the problem was not he milk but the quantity. I was used to feeding to demand but in first weeks he seemed not able to control it and was talking too much so he than was settling with troubles and crying in between. Can it be the case?

If the trapped wind is further down his digestive system I'd say it's more likely to be from earlier in the day - what solids is he having and what times?

Thanks for your replies ladies.

Last night he had a bottle of formula much earlier on, maybe 4pmish and then breast milk before bed and didn't seem to have the colic problems.
At the moment he is only has two meals a day (breakfast and lunch) as his tummy troubles were even worse when he had supper- even as early as 4.30pm. However, yesterday I did give him half a piece of toast at about 4pm and that didn't effect him.

I went to the supermarket today and they only stocked Hipp organic 'normal' milk so I had to buy that. Do you think some infacol might help?
Or *lolly* do you think it is solids?
