Easy routine for 15 week old
« on: October 27, 2016, 23:34:06 pm »
I need help establishing a routine for my 15 week old. With my first lo the easy routine worked so well with this guy not so much. Any tips on how to get him on a good nap schedule. I've tried everything and I just get 4 short naps 30 mins mostly some 40/45 and the occasional 1 hr. We are at an average 1 hr 45 min A time. Schoo drop offs and pick ups sometimes lead to long A times and feeding before bed. Early bedtime has been a challenge as well due to him not napping in the late part of the day. He's struggling with teething as well and still trying to get out Of his swaddle which makes him unsettled and then wakes up.

Hugs. I know this is a difficult time. Only recently I found a note book I kept when my own DS was this age and the naps were a nightmare. It didn't seem to matter at all what A time I did we had those short naps and every now and then a random long one.

Would you like to post yesterdays EASY times?

Yesterday he wouldn't go down for late nap he actually slept in my arms for an hour! Which he hasn't done since he's a newborn! But one thing I did notice was with that late nap 415-515 he went to bed nicely and didn't wake until 330! So he def must be ot at night normally.

A 630 -815
E 715 feed only took4 oz
S 815-845
E 1015 5 oz
S 1030- 1110
We were out from 1130-130 Had to run an errand and do school pick up hoped he would cn in car but didn't school pickups drop offs make A time too long but I have no choice
E 130 only took 3 oz
S 2-230
E fed him the rest of his bottle from before nap3 oz
Nap 415-515 in arms tried 3 times to get him to nap in crib he always does
E 530 5 oz
E 7 feed 5 oz
S 7pm- 330a
330 wake feed
7 wake
E 745 5 oz

Well hurrah for a good nap! Hope you enjoyed that time :)
I saw the random long naps in my own note book which I mentioned before. They never made any sense tbh and even looking back at them now with more understanding/knowledge of A times etc they still don't make sense.

Make good use of every Y time you get honey :)

Thank you :)! What should a typical day look like for a 15 week old? He's or interested in a few feeds these days until 3.5-4 hrs in btwn.

You can see some here:
chronological EASY samples, 4-6 months
chronological EASY samples, 0-3 months
and all ages here
Sample EASY Routines from 0 - 13mths+
Although with school runs and short naps I don't know if the typical day examples are going to be much help for you.

It seems by 4 months most los are taking 2-3 naps I suppose that's because they are long naps. We are doing like 4-5 very short 30 min naps! So frustrating

Most of what we see on the sleep boards are 4 month olds going through the 4 month sleep regression and taking several 40 min naps (or 20min, 30min, 45min depending on the individual).  My own DS was doing 4 or 5 naps at this age, pretty much every nap 40 mins with the occasional long nap thrown in randomly and I never knew when it was going to happen.
the samples are good for a guidance but it's worth noting that if someone was struggling through a period of short naps they would be unlikely to post their routine on a sample EASY thread.

I agree it is very frustrating. Also very tiring.
You will get through this x

And his new thing is he cries before he falls asleep at every nap!
