When can I add garlic?
« on: November 12, 2016, 23:27:35 pm »
Hi all, my lil guy is almost 6 months. I made up a huge pot of mixed veg orginally intended to make as a sauce for my 4 and 5 year olds. It was literally just veg and a bit of garlic and basil and tomato passata. I gave some to him and Omg he devoured it and was obviously wanting more. It was only afterwards I thought of the garlic!!

I kept an eye on him and he was fine after it but I havent given it to him since just in case. Do you think it's ok or should I leave it for another few months?

Thanks as always xx

Oh Brill thanks! I've never seen a baby so in to one type of food! Lol. He nearly took the hand off me! 😆

Mine would also have loved your veggie garlicy creation :)
I see no harm with it at all, you only need to avoid/have caution with salt really (and the other few no-go foods, honey, sugar, whole nuts, raw fish...)
Any food can cause a reaction though, mine devoured some oven baked potato wedges seasoned with masala but almost instantly got a skin rash on face and hands, anywhere the spice had touched, it did not react inside him (no vom or diarrhoea) but the skin reaction wasn't nice.

Lovely to hear your LO is enjoying his experience with solids :)
