When can I let her get up if crying?
« on: April 17, 2007, 17:02:44 pm »
Hi there,
I now that 19 wk. olds should take 2-2 hr. naps and a catnap. But I have seen Tracy say that three 1.5 hr. naps are okay too. Is it okay to allow both, or should I be consistent in the name of Josie's expectations/learned behavior, etc. Some days she sleeps straight through for two hours. Some days, she starts crying after 50 minutes, and I off-and-on help her back down until the two-hour mark has expired. Should I get her up after 1.5 hours if she's fussy about napping? If so, then I know she'll want to take her next nap earlier, and that throws off the eating schedule, doesn't it? Right now she eats at 7, 11, 3, and around 6:30.
Thank you!

1.5-2hr nap either is fine. If she wakes early i would try and resettle up to either the 1.5 or 2hr mark. If you think at the 1.5hr mark she doesn't look like she might go back to sleep then get her up and have quiet time before the next feed.
